President’s
Message
2011/2012 is an interesting and active year for BEAM in promoting and
making plans for the better advancement of our biomedical and healthcare
engineering activities. Coming to the 11th year in existence, BEAM are coming to a position of looking at
numerous possibilities of growth and advancement in satisfying its objective of
providing the latest
development in the management of medical technology, medical equipment and
healthcare facility engineering services to the members. BEAM, together with
Engineering Services Division, Ministry of Health and all other industry players
in the healthcare industries will strive to ensure the continuing progress of
healthcare services in Malaysia.
Continuous
support from members have contributed immensely to the growth and success of
BEAM for the past years and, for the coming years, we are in a wonderful
position of supporting the advancement of our profession, to accomplish better
things with great activities. Our aim for next year is focusing on excellence
and competence in Biomedical and Facility Engineering management.
As
always, BEAM over the last year has been particularly active in organizing
technical training, social events, and seminars and the support
from all are tremendous. To top it up this year, I would like to proudly
announce that we have bought and owned a two storey office building (Wisma
BEAM), renovated to a fully functional seminar rooms, office and meeting rooms
at the Airport City Business Centre, Sepang and will be fully functional
January next year. This will be our home and interaction base for members,
meetings and various training activities.
Next year will be
exciting and challenging too. Together, we will be organising our International
Healthcare Engineering 2013 Conference this 11-12th September 2013.
This will be doubly exciting because, and thanks to our IFHE council, the IFHE Exco and Council 2013
meetings will be held here too in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, in
conjunction to the conference. I’m hopefully sure our IFHE friends from all
over the world would love to join and participate in this eventful conference
here in Kuala Lumpur in 2013. Our International Conference, IFHE Exco and
Council Meetings are mentioned in the forthcoming IFHE events calendar. As
usual, we would not ever miss our annually President’s Cup Challenge Golf planned
to be held February next year.
Meanwhile, BEAM will obviously have to
continue playing an important role in helping to set the directions and enhance
the healthcare support services in Malaysia.
