Sejarah Penubuhan BEAM

Sejarah penubuhannya bermula dengan beberapa orang Jurutera Biomedikal di Kementerian Kesihatan berbincang untuk menubuhkan satu persatuan. Perbincangan diketuai oleh Ir. Syed Mustafa Kamal dan En. Zamane Abdul Rahman. Mesyuarat pertama cadangan penubuhan dibuat pada 30hb Jun 2000 dengan 7 orang hadir.

Setelah mesyuarat tersebut, permohonan telah dibuat kepada Jabatan Pendaftar Pertubuhan.

Pada 23 Februari 2001, satu surat diterima dari Jabatan Pendaftar Pertubuhan meminta beberapa maklumat tambahan.

Segala keperluan dilengkapkan dan dikemukakan kepada Jabatan Pendaftar Pertubuhan pada 20 Mac 2001.

Akhirnya, pihak Pendaftar Pertubuhan meluluskan penubuhan PERSATUAN KEJURUTERAAN BIOMEDIKAL MALAYSIA (BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION OF MALAYSIA) (BEAM) pada 23 hb Mac 2001 dengan no pendaftaran 307.

BEAM telah ditubuhkan pada  23 Mac 2001.

ABOUT BEAM

The Biomedical Engineering Association Malaysia was established in 23th Mac 2001 founded by Ir. Dr. Syed Mustafa Kamal Syed Aman and a few engineer from the Engineering Services Division, Ministry of Health.  Ir Dr. Syed Mustafa is also as the first chairman of BEAM.

The formation of BEAM was indeed timely as to promote the awareness in Bioengineering and Clinical Engineering in Malaysia.

Biomedical Engineering, as an application of engineering concepts and technology in the development of instrumentation, materials, diagnostic and therapeutic devices, play a major role in hospital's healthcare activities.

The major role of BEAM is to provide the latest development in the management of medical technology and medical equipment to the members. BEAM, together with Engineering Services Division, Ministry of Health will ensure the continuing progress of healthcare services in Malaysia.

Through the work of its committee, BEAM is committed to continue advancement of Hospital and Healthcare service systems through sharing of knowledge and experiences into the twenty-first century in line with Vision 2020.
